Book 26 Chapter 22

A roundtable discussion with Ryu-yeon Bi and her crew

비류연:배-액(百)!

Hui-Long: Ma-An!

Jang Hong: Do-stone!

Bi Ryuyeon: 파-ah (破)!

Jang Hong & Hyo Ryong & Bi Ryu Yeon: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Bi Ryuyeon: With this 26th volume, Bi Ryuyeon has finally achieved the "million breakthrough," not the 10,000,000 breakthrough, not the 15,000,000 breakthrough, but the 1,000,000 breakthrough. It's hard to believe, but it's true.

(Round of applause again!)

Hyo-Ryong: I didn't believe it either!

Jang Hong: Me too!

Ryuyeon Bi: It's okay, it's okay, I don't trust the writer.

Hyo-ryong: I see. (Convinced)

Jang Hong: It is. It's the first time in Korean martial arts that we've sold a million copies, I think? I'm sure you're feeling a little bit dumbfounded, too. We're all about the unknown…….

Bi Ryuyeon: (to a rambling Jang Hong) No, you don't have to try so hard to change the subject.

Jang Hong: (beeping) Changing the subject? Who would do such a thing? I'm only celebrating what is to be celebrated, not because I have other ideas.

Bi Ryuyeon: (pointing to Jang Hong with a finger) What a fortunate thing for Zhang.

Jang Hong: (hotly) What, what do you mean fortunate?

Ryu-yeon Bi: You know, normally, you would have been on the edge of life and death with that local girl, but when this big issue went "bang!", you were buried. You were saved.

Jang Hong: Hey, hey, hey, hey, Ryuyeon, don't make things up! Who's the local? I'm completely innocent. Although I'm inwardly relieved that I've made such a big deal out of this, it doesn't mean I did it. Why bring it up again when it's barely buried? Do you and I have some kind of enmity?

Bi Ryuyeon: No, I'm just saying that as a person who loves the truth, I think it's better to be clear about things for the sake of future safety.

Jang Hong: When it comes to marriage, the moment you become complacent, it's over. You have a grudge against me, don't you? Tell me, tell me!

Bi Ryuyeon: No, well, I don't have any complaints, do you, Long Long?

Hyo-Ryong: That's right, I'm not doing this because I feel like I'm wasting you. I'm not doing this because I feel like I'm wasting you. I'm doing this because I feel like I'm wasting you. ……. Black!

Jang Hong: That's not fair! That's not fair! I'm not fair! I'm not fair!

Hui-Long: And you're also a jumuluck! You colorful, perverted, uncle!

Jang Hong: No, no, no, it was an accident! It was a force majeure!

Hyo-Ryong: So you're saying it was force majeure to have an affair?

Jang Hong: So, you're saying there's no such thing? You're wrong, you're wrong!

Ryu-yeon Bi: That's what we'll find out when we have a three-way meeting.

Jang Hong: Yeah, the three-way…… Oh, no, there's no three-way, there's just me and my wife, and then there's the two-way.

Ryuyeon Bi:Well, I don't know about that…….

Jang Hong: No, no, no, no!

Writer M: All right, calm down. Of course, Jang Hong, you're no longer alive and well, but you've done a good job.

Jang Hong: No! Don't confirm it as if it's already done! I don't want to hear that from a writer's mouth!

Author M: (Turning away from Jang Hong, who is screaming, "I'm doomed, I have no more dreams, no more hope, ahhhhhhhhh!") Hello, I'm Author M of Bireudo. Thanks to all of your support and love, Birodo has finally surpassed 1 million copies. It's said to be the first Korean martial arts novel to do so. I hope this will broaden the horizons of those who write martial arts novels a bit more. Thanks to my comrades-in-arms who have always stood by my side and supported me.

You feel like you've finally gotten over the hump. But now that you're there, you realize you still have a long way to go.

I realized that I had to do something to show the love that I had received from my readers, and I wanted to share this with others so that I could continue to work harder.

So to start, I gathered a group of like-minded people and created a creative office.

Ark Lee Do-Kyung, a writer and minwan editor who is gaining fame(?) in various ways these days, as well as Bang Na-nim, who wrote "The Raising of the Demon King" and "Millennium Zero", Gaonbi Bang-yeon, who wrote "The Name of the Thousand" (these two are currently writing the story for the manga "Abyssal Cavalier"), and K.O.G., who is in a sense the alter ego…… of the Flame God. 's Redios Hong Seong-hwa, the pacifist Kang Myung-woon, who wrote "Private Saffron Magic Girls' School" and "Find My Tail!", and Gwanggyo Han Sung-soo, who is known for several martial arts works such as "Volcano Sword Sect" and "Shaman's Battle", as well as Pentaku, a butler(?) who claims to be a civilian, make up the current eight main members of the office.

We also have a few other writers who will be canned soon, including "Day Breaker" author Fenrill Baek Seohyun and illustrator Ethan Hunter, who has been on a roll lately.

If you watched the Nonreliability Volume 25 roundtable, you may remember it.

What do you want to shout out to the world?

question. We wanted to create a place for people who had something they wanted to shout out to the world, so we got together with a bunch of writers in our office, and we decided to launch [Project N].

It looks like this long-planned project will finally see the light of day in January 2009.

The 'N' in [Project N] is for NOVELCORE, a novel & illustration creation site.

Along with many other professional writers, I'm going to be publishing my first serialized story in a long time. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a long time, but couldn't due to the flow of the story, and it's called "The Chapter of the Taijiquan," which is the story of "he," or maybe it's "they," but it's a story nonetheless.

There's a lot of other fun stuff, so come on over and enjoy.

Wuxia, fantasy, light novels, manga stories, illustrations, and publishing editing. It's a great opportunity to see how your work looks through the eyes of not only a writer, but also an editor who's in charge of publishing. I think it's great to talk about your work, and to share stories about creating.

Later on, we're going to build an infernal training chamber, accepting applicants by application only, and we're going to sit Ark down in the enema and watch him with a warm, fuzzy gaze from afar while I'm weak at heart, but rest assured, that's just the plan. Schedules are always subject to change, aren't they? This is a very peaceful and quiet site, even though behind the scenes someone is sharpening a sharp knife on a mental rod and plotting out a training menu, but that never happens.

Through this [Project N], we hope to create a metropolis of entertainment creativity, and we want to invite anyone who has a story to tell that they want to shout out to the world to participate.

In conjunction with the open event, we'll also be hosting a "Rainbow Million-Dollar Event" on our site. You can read more about the event on the back page. There are some great prizes up for grabs, so please join us.

January, 2009.

Stay tuned for more.

Until then, see you in Volume 27 of Reliability.

Bi Ryuyeon: Wait, what about us? We're not done talking.

Jang Hong: No, we're done talking, let's not talk about it anymore.

Hsiao-Long: No, Mr. Zhang. The truth must come out, the truth must come out. Oh, here comes your brother.

Jang Hong: No, no, no, no, no, no!

Bi Ryuyeon: He's running away, catch him!

Hyolong: Oooh!
