Blackmailing writers! Threats!
At the end of the
Finally…… finally……
Jang Hong: The Great Resurrection!!!!!!!!!! A roundtable discussion with Bi Ryuyeon and her crew. Ciao ciao ciao!
Hyo-ryong: Wow, it's like coming home, Mr. Zhang.
Jang Hong: You thought we were exiled, but we're finally back. Wow, that's so touching!
Hyo-Ryong: I agree.
Jang Hong: But where's "that guy"? Normally, he would have shown up at this point and said "huh" and said a few mean things.
Hyo-Ryong: Come to think of it, you didn't seem to be in the mood to talk much.
Jang Hong: Huh? What's the matter with you? You've gone from being an asshole to being cheerful.
Hyo-Ryong: I don't know, I'm pretty sure he was pretty demoralized.
Jang Hong: Willpower? Don't you think that's an insult to the word willpower?
Hyo-Ryong: I feel a little bad about that.
Jang Hong: You should be very sorry.
Hyo-ryong: Anyway, I'm not in the mood to talk much today. I think I've been through quite a traumatic experience.
Jang Hong: Cause and effect, but he needs to be a little cocky to lighten the mood. Is this the only way we can keep it together?
Hyo-Ryong: At this rate, there's a 9-to-1 chance you'll be fired in the next book.
Jang Hong: (screaming) No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! Mr. Huilong, we need to do something.
Hyo-Ryong: Should I bring Yun Sojae? He's been the talk of the town. He's a better fit than I thought.
Jang Hong: (firmly) Dismissed, you can't bring women into this corner anymore!
Hyo-ryong: Was it a woman……. I feel like it wasn't…….
Jang Hong: Anyway, no! Right now, Yun Jun is wearing a woman's disguise, so he's a woman!
Hyo-Ryong: Then what should we do?
Jang Hong: Let's get a writer!
Hyo-Ryong: A writer?
Jang Hong: Yes, writer, hurry up!
Hyo Ryong: I think that's a worse way to do it…….
(Hyo-ryong, who brought up writer M anyway)
Writer M: Hi, this is Writer M. It's been a while. Wow, this corner is still around.
Jang Hong & Hui Long: What do you mean, you're picking a fight!
Writer M: No, I was just giving my honest opinion. Be more open-minded. I mean, have a broad mind.
Jang Hong: Well, that's great. Take it easy, feel like you're in a hearing.
Writer M: That's where I think the onlookers are going to be more uncomfortable than we are, there.
Hyo-ryong: Let's get down to business, both of you. First of all, let me ask you, is it true that you have a new book coming out this time?
Writer M: Yes, that's true.
Hyo-Ryong: That's true, I've been anxiously awaiting it. When will it come out?
Author M: It's coming out on August 7, 2007, and I don't know the time, I'd love to give you the minute, but it's probably going to be the moment you go to the bookstore and grab that book.
Jang Hong: Where does it come from?
It comes under the brand name AuthorM:Crew archetype. The title is "The Mermaid Saga".
Jang Hong: I didn't ask for the title of your work!
Writer M: Weren't you going to ask anyway?
Jang Hong: By the way, I'd like to ask you to stick to questions.
Writer M: It's not martial arts.
Jang Hong: (Bam!) That's an answer that hasn't been asked yet! Please don't answer the question before you ask it.
Writer M: Why, because you're getting less screen time?
Jang Hong: This is the problem with people in the industry, they know too much…….
Hyo-Ryong: It's been a while since you've done a movie, hasn't it?
Writer M: It's been a while, and it's my first time.
Hyo-Ryong: Is that true? I thought it's been a long time since we've used thunderbolts?
Writer M: It's been 10 years already, or less if you count the time since publication. I think it's time for another story.
Hyo-ryong: Okay, so you've got a new one… you said "Mermaid Saga"? What does that mean?
Writer M: It means a biography of the Little Mermaid. It is not a biography of a great person, but a biography of a war.
Hyo-Ryong: I see, what is it?
Writer M: It's a secret, of course. I don't even watch trailers, so of course I don't give them away. However, the artwork was illustrated by Junho Jung, who was in charge of Lineage 2. I think you'll find the artwork to be stunning.
Hyo-ryong: I see. There are rumors that the publication cycle of the new book will be delayed even further, and there is even talk of one book a year.
Author M: I don't think that's going to happen. We're going to keep the pace we're on, which is one book a month unless something happens.
Hyo-Ryong: That's great to hear, and I'm relieved to hear that.
Writer M: I think the only question you wanted to ask was the last one?
Hyo-ryong: Let's skip the small stuff. Well, Bi Ryuyeon, he's not willing to come out right now, so I think it's better for us to wrap it up between us. I don't think there's anything more to it than that.
Writer M: I'm not a quilt.
Jang Hong: Well, that's the analogy, never mind, let's wrap it up.
Writer M: It's always exciting to take on a new challenge, it's a little bit nerve-wracking, a little bit nerve-wracking, but it's exciting just to be given the opportunity to do it. I want to move forward, and I want to move forward, and I want to move forward, and I want to move forward, and I want to move forward, and I want to move forward, but there's always another summit. I don't think I'll be bored for a while, because there's still a long way to go until I've climbed all those mountains.
It's been almost a decade since I wrote Vireo, and now I'm about to embark on another story that's been in the back of my mind for a decade. I'll admit, I'm a little nervous. But I don't want to run away from the opportunity of this new challenge, because that would be kicking myself out of the opportunity to push myself beyond my limits. Maybe progress and evolution is an absolute imperative that's written into our genes, and I don't see the end of it yet, but I think I'm on the right path as I walk toward it. I've been walking down one path for 10 years, and I don't think the path has changed just because the story I'm about to tell has become two, because I'm still committed to writing stories that are interesting, stories that are enjoyable, stories that engage people, stories that are uplifting to look at. I'm going to keep walking down this road, and I don't know what I'll see, hear, and feel along the way, but I'll make sure I don't forget to tell you about it.
Thank you.
I can't believe I'm dragging a writer into this corner.
